Who follows my blog know that unfortunately in this period are very busy but there is always a thought for you. For this reason, since even I will have to make the molds would like to share this post I found on Misshobby .
This is the text of Article Misshobby:
So girls, if they have already talked a lot, but I would like to share with you my experience on the silicone rubber molds and their practical use with polymer clay. I'll tell you
what I do, my experiences and little tricks that I learned to use with practice.
The silicone rubber compound in dough is easy to use, fast and very loyal nell'indurimento in the rendering of detail. Non-toxic, it can also be used to create food stamps, to make chocolates for example. The only flaw ... is a bit ', baby! But I assure you, shopping is fun.
first effort ... go to the store model or fine arts and leave him 30 to 50 € per 500 grams of rubber ...
Once you overcome this trauma, you go home and get to work.
First taken from each pot an equal amount of pasta, do 2 scoops to check by eye that the volume is equivalent, then begin to knead in your hands, until the two components will not mix well. Doing this is very simple, since the two pastes have two different colors. When the color obtained is homogeneous, then the dough is ready. Remember that the paste hardens in 5 minutes, then quickly do this, just because the two components are mixed, it starts the hardening process.
First of all, you will have a small box slightly larger than the object you want to create the Sampo. Examples: the cap of a bottle of detergent / juice / milk, boxes of cheese, the lid of a cardboard box with jewels, etc ... Look around in short, the mother of invention, and certainly you will find what is right for you!
Put the ball in the container, then placed in the center the object you want to clone and push it well to face down. Level the board so that the surface is even, remove any excess paste and wait 5 minutes.
Your print is ready!
I often do not even use the container, but simply placed the object on a plane and we squeeze over the pasta. Regulates the edges with your hands to make the stencil rectangular or circular, depending on the object and then proceed as above. Really simple and intuitive.
Now you have your mold. How to use it well with polymer clay? Just follow some simple trick:
1) Create molds have a minimum area of \u200b\u200bthe board, so that then it is easy to lift the arch form obtained without touching it with your fingers.
2) a small ball of polymer clay, then with a flat brush to paint, "flour" the mold thoroughly with talcum powder, give a final soffiatina to remove the excess and then place the ball of polymer clay into the mold and crushed fine, leveled the back, remove the polymer clay that "overflowing" with a cutter. The key issue is now shaping the edges your small object (even when it is in the mold) smooth, rounded edges with a finger imborotalcato (careful not to overdo it!) The talcum powder will also remove the object from the back of the unsightly fingerprints, gently rub your finger on the back of 'object by circular movements.
3) Prepare a dish with greaseproof paper above, which you will need to drop the object. Now the mold gently arched ... naturally facing down, and you will see that the shape will come out easily. Do not touch your oggettino for now! Put it in the fridge for about twenty minutes (in the summer will serve more time). When it is cold and therefore harder, only then For example, you can take action to put the nails for mounting as a charm. In this way will keep better form.
You just have to bake now, your wonderful work!
I hope I've helped and not have told you things you already know! I enclose a photo of my own creation obtained with a silicone rubber mold and the polymer clay.
remain at your disposal for any questions and curiosity, and in the meantime, I salute you! Chiara
close with a nice video of Sarubbest that shows you how to use the two-component paste
